Sanjeev Agarwal, Chairman and CEO
Mr. Agarwal joined Althera in 2015 and has been the driving force behind building Althera’s cardiovascular focused product portfolio and global commercial operations. Mr. Agarwal has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in various functions across US, Europe and ROW markets. Prior to joining Althera, he was a Partner at McKinsey & Company’s US and European offices in areas of Sales, Marketing and Commercial Operations. Mr. Agarwal is an MBA and a graduate in Computer Engineering. He is passionate about helping patients live better and stronger.
Dr. Patrick Aubonnet, Vice President and Head of Medical Affairs
Dr. Aubonnet has more than 30 years of experience in clinical development and medical affairs with a strong focus on cardiovascular disease and particularly lipid management. Dr. Aubonnet is responsible for all Althera’s medical affairs activities. Prior to joining Althera, Dr. Aubonnet worked in several Pharmaceutical Companies including Fournier Laboratories, including Viatris (combination of Pfizer-Upjohn and Mylan), Abbott and Solvay. Dr. Aubonnet is a Medical Doctor from Nice University, France and holds a Certificate in Pharmacoeconomics, from Monash University, Australia and an MBA, from IAE Nice/CERAM, France.
Dr. Chandir Ramani, Head of R&D and Technical Operations
Dr. Ramani has more than 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical product development and technical operations in 3 continents. Dr. Ramani joined Althera in 2013 and is responsible for all product development and technical operations including Althera’s own sites and network of external manufacturing sites. Prior to joining Althera, Dr. Ramani worked at multiple sites of GlaxoSmithKline, Patheon, a global Contract Manufacturer as well as other reputed biopharmaceutical firms. Dr. Ramani holds a Ph.D in Pharmaceutics, as well as Masters and Bachelors degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He has been noted as an inventor on several US patents including several for Althera. Dr. Ramani is also a registered pharmacist in three US states.
Charmaine Dias, Head Supply Chain and Operations
Ms. Dias joined Althera in 2010 and has over 20 years of business experience. Ms. Dias has been instrumental in building Althera’s supply chain and business operations across three continents including delivering our medicines to patients in dozens of markets in Europe. Prior to Althera, Ms. Dias worked in various functions in General Electric group companies including GE Life Sciences. Ms. Dias holds a masters degree from Tata Institute and a B.S. in Psychology.
James Medley, Vice President Regulatory Affairs
Dr. Medley has worked in the pharmaceutical industry in product development and regulatory affairs since 1984. Dr. Medley has worked with Althera since 2016 as a consultant and joined the company in 2021. He is responsible for US Regulatory Affairs and submissions. Prior to joining Althera, Dr. Medley worked in industry at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, Kos Life Sciences, Sanofi-Aventis and Biovail Laboratories, and as a consultant at PA Consulting Group and Camargo Pharmaceutical Services. Dr. Medley holds a Ph.D in Chemistry from Louisiana State University.
